This is really important! If you’re coming to the tionól from another country (Canada, Ireland, etc.), and your pipes (or your fiddle bow!) has any parts made of ivory, your instrument may be confiscated at the border unless you have the proper documentation.
Tighter restrictions have been in place since February 2014 on ivory imports and exports. It’s worth reading up on the new law to understand the risks. There’s a good summary at http://www.thebagpipeplace.com/bagpipes-ivory/
If you’re a fiddle player, it’s especially important to know whether your bow has ivory; many older bows have ivory on the tip.
