Thanks to the generosity of donors, the Northeast Tionól offers three types of scholarship (two for pipers, one for fiddlers) that will cover a student’s tuition for the weekend and pay $200 toward the student’s room and board.
The 2020 Northeast Tionól is cancelled. The scholarship application period for 2021 will open in July 2021.
Bill Ochs Memorial Piping Scholarships
Scholarship for young pipers
To be eligible for consideration, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be under 25 years old.
- You must own or have use of, at minimum, a working practice set of uilleann pipes.
- You must have been playing for at least six months.
Scholarship for female pipers
Open to all female pipers, regardless of age or experience, to be awarded based on enthusiasm for piping and other factors at the discretion of the awards committee. To be eligible for consideration, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must own or have use of, at minimum, a working practice set of uilleann pipes.
Fiddle Scholarship
Scholarship for young fiddlers
To be eligible for consideration, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be under 25 years old.
- You must have been playing violin or fiddle for at least two years.
